One of the sluices at Cromford Mill has been repaired by Derbyshire County Council to give greater control of water entering and leaving Cromford Canal. The old mechanism was worn and repairs have been carried out to match the original construction.

Councillor Andy Botham, said: “Arkwright’s Mill is a World Heritage Site and the work will enable us to control water levels and help avoid potential flooding.”
