An historic Derbyshire mill went back in time last week for the filming of a 17th century civil war blockbuster.
The rustic looking Grade II listed Bobbin Mill in Ashford was used as an atmospheric set for filming, however the final cut won’t actually be appearing on the big screen at all.
The filming has been done as part of a £5. 4 million project to create a National Civil War centre, the UK’s first, in Nottingham.
Specifically, the filming will be going towards the creation of a ground-breaking app, as it will be viewable through smartphones and tablets, showing storylines that recount the nation’s Civil War turmoil.
Pictured above by Martin Elliot, is cast and crew filming at the mill, where actors donned 17th century costumes to recreate the authentic period feel.
