Highfields praised by OFSTED

Schools inspector OFSTED has praised Highfields School on its alternative curriculum on a recent visit.

The curriculum is an alternative to GCSE’s and involves lessons out of school or work placements.

Inspector Ian Middleton praised the variety of what the school offers, reflecting the range of learning needs of the students involved.

He also praised the programme for its “clear focus on good academic standards”.

Headteacher Eddie Wilkes said: “This is a real tribute to the hard work of staff, the attitudes of youngsters, support of our parents and the wider support of our community.”
