FOUR high-tech CCTV cameras capable of recording top quality images night and day will be used to fight nuisance behaviour in Buxton.
The cameras can be easily fixed internally, such as in windows, and record footage onto a hard drive.
Police can then retrieve the footage – which is recorded in daylight and with crisp night-vision – by transferring it to a USB stick. They can then take stills and examine the high-resolution images to identify criminals.
The cameras, acquired by High Peak Community Safety Partnership, are part of the Lend-A-Cam scheme, where police can request them to be installed in problem hotspots to overlook homes, gardens and streets.
