Classic car enthusiasts from around the country travelled to Derbyshire for the start of a group’s road run season.
Motorists drove from Portsmouth, Norwich and Scunthorpe to The Anchor at Oakerthorpe where they joined forces with members of Chesterfield MG Group for their season’s inaugural run.
More than 80 classic cars in a variety of marques drew into the car park and following a hearty breakfast, their owners set off for a leisurely tour round the west and the south of the county.
Event organiser Graham Ludlam said it was a pleasure to see so many immaculately turned out classic cars from a bygone era and that they all made it back to the pub car park.
Chesterfield MG Group’s signature event is the Marcham Road Run, which will be staged on July 10, when all money raised will go to the Mayor of Chesterfield’s chosen charity.
Proceeds come in the form of the entry fee, advertising revenue and individual donations.
This event, in its 22nd year, has seen many thousands of pounds raised for local charities and is open to all makes of classic cars.
