A BID to create an allotment for disabled and disadvantaged people has been given a boost following an article published in the Derbyshire Times.
The Garden for All project, set up by a team at Grassmoor Allotments has gained interest from several groups hoping to help out, with people offering both their time and equipment to the cause.
Anita Skelton, 53, from Clowne is on the allotment’s committee for the project, and has been contacted by probation services to see if they can get involved with the community payback scheme.
She said: “We have had people contacting us to donate paving slabs, and others offering a JCB to help to level the ground out.”
A team from Chesterfield Post Office will return to the site at the end of this month to help lay some paving slabs on the double plot.
