Publicity was distributed this week advertising two new services that will happen on the first Sunday of each month, beginning on Sunday, February 3, and especially designed for those who only want to come to church on one Sunday a month. For the first time in many years a short 40-minute service of Holy Communion will be held in All Saints church, Heath, starting at 10am. Also on the first Sunday at 10.30am an alternative worship will be held at St Albans.
On Wednesday afternoon, children met at St Albans Centre for the children’s church. Participants looked at the story Jesus told about lost sheep through games and making a puppet sheep with lollipop sticks. They also enjoyed afternoon tea.
On Friday five parishioners met at the St Albans centre. They were appreciative of a hot drink and somewhere warm and safe to play with their children and relax together. There were toys and puzzles, balls and hoops. There was also a time of ‘sing and play’ with children’s songs and tambourines.
On Saturday morning, five people met at St Albans for the Big Breakfast. Having trudged through the snow, the breakfast of sausage, bacon and egg was greatly appreciated, as was the hot toast and drinks. No charge was made and this is friendly, relaxed and a great way to start the day together.
