HEATH AND HOLMEWOOD: Energise group’s look at world poverty in Christian Aid week

All those that went enjoyed an evening at Derby Cathedral on Friday hosted by the Youth Council. There were games, tuck, space for prayer and craft and the two hours just flew by.

Then on Saturday at 5pm, the young people who came to Energise were in for a shock. Normally the church provides hot dogs or pizza and soft drinks but with this being Christian Aid week things were different. The only refreshment was water and the only snack offered were two packets of crisps which the teams worked together to achieve.

As a group members thanked God for how blessed they were to be able to turn on a tap to get a drink of water.

The theme of the session, including the water game, involved team work and working together and was about how co-operation could help change world poverty.
