Police are appealing for information after yobs targeted a Staveley school over the half-term holidays.

Thieves stole six fence posts – which were being used to help build an outdoor classroom and allotment – from the grounds of Staveley Junior School on College Avenue.

The crime happened sometime between midday on Tuesday, May 26 and 6.30am on Monday, June 1.

PCSO Anna Kelsey, of Derbyshire police, said: “The fence posts were being used to help build an outdoor classroom and allotment area for the children to enjoy.

“This means a great deal to the children and staff at the school and we hope to work together to bring those responsible to justice.”

Witnesses or anyone with information about the crime should call Derbyshire police on 101 or Crimestopers on 080 555 111.
