A free ‘healthcare bus’ is making a special stop in Clay Cross.

The pale blue double decker bus will roll into the Tesco Extra car park between 2pm and 4.30pm on September 12 and will be packed with essential tips and advice from the local NHS for better health.

Included on the bus to pick up will be free quitting smoking advice, information on long term illnesses such as asthma and diabetes and simple measures to ensure that local people stay warm and well in winter whatever their age.

Specialist staff and nurses from the local NHS will also be on board the bus to give out first-hand advice on a wide range of health matters.

Judy Derricott, health improvement manager for NHS Derbyshire County, said: “The ‘healthcare bus’ is a fantastic way for people out and about in town to pick up invaluable health advice.

“Staff on board the bus will be able to give free tips and advice, or signpost you to the nearest service that can help address your health needs, so why not pop along and see what you can find out while the bus is stopped near you?”
