“Mark will be very sorely missed.”

Claire told how biking was Mr Young’s ‘number one passion’ and an interest he had loved since childhood.

She said: “He’d finished work early last Thursday, it was a lovely, sunny day and he decided to go for a ride.

“Mark always said that if anything ever happened to him on his bike he’d have been doing what he loved.

“He was a very experienced motorcyclist and rode responsibly.”

HGV driver Mr Young was born in Buxton and lived in the town for most of his life.

Claire – who was married to Mr Young for 24 years – said the family would like to thank the people of Buxton for their support following the tragedy.

Police said the collision happened on Main Road in Bradwell at the junction with Gore Lane at about 4.15pm last Thursday.

Witnesses or anyone with information about the collision should call DC Darren Parkin on 101, quoting incident number 472 of May 6.

Mr Young’s inquest is expected to open at Chesterfield coroners’ court on Thursday.
