CONSULTATION on changes to Chesterfield’s Parliamentary boundary is taking place.
People can see proposals to include or transfer wards between constituencies at the town hall or Staveley Hall.
The current parliamentary boundary for Chesterfield constituency excludes the wards of Barrow Hill and New Whittington and Lowgates and Woodthorpe which are in the North East Derbyshire parliamentary constituency.
Following a review by the Boundary Commission for England, Barrow Hill and New Whittington ward will form part of the Chesterfield constituency while Lowgates and Woodthorpe ward will transfer to Bolsover parliamentary constituency.
Now a 12 week consultation is taking place to give people the opportunity of feedback on the proposed changes before December 5.
The commission is holding a series of public hearings for people to attend to make representations to the Assistant Commissioner about the proposals for the East Midlands region.
Sessions will be held in Derby on October 27 and 28, then Lincoln on November 3 and 4.
