Matlock Musical Theatre are exploding back on to the local performance scene with an ambitious production to celebrate the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee.

The company are touring their production, Right Royal Revue, around the area and are inviting you to join with them to celebrate this momentous occasion with song, laughter and a really good night of entertainment guaranteed.

Following five successful years at Chesterfield’s Pomegranate Theatre, the group has been hard at work to ensure best foot (and voice) forward for an entertaining evening of show songs, pop arrangements and comedy items from each decade of the Queen’s 60 year reign.

Those of you who have enjoyed the group’s more formal concerts will be wooed by dynamic delivery of so many works of the cream of British writers and composers. Since January the company have been dusting off their dance shoes and readying their vocal cords to astound you, plus you will be welcome to join in any songs you know the words to, in the street party atmosphere of the evening. You can look forward to a varied and engaging programme of items from The Beatles, Queen, Bricusse & Newley, John Barry, Elton John & Tim Rice, Andrew Lloyd Webber and many more. The society will accompanied by a keyboard and woodwind combo all under the inspiring direction of Delph Richards.

The performances will start at 7.30 pm and will be taking place on June 15 and 16, 22 and 23, with the opening night venue being Imperial Rooms, Matlock, and subsequent performances at Calver Village Hall, Medway Centre, Bakewell and Wirksworth Town Hall respectively.

Tickets are available from Phil & Jane Allwood on 01246 220841 or via the website www.matlock-musical-theatre.org.uk. They are £9 including interval nibbles and there will be a limited bar at each venue.
