Fusion Charity Challenge event 9/2/12

Fusion Charity Challenge event 9/2/12

VOLUNTEERS raised over £65,000 as part of a 40th anniversary charity challenge.

Over 30 charities will benefit from the money, raised by Chesterfield-based Fusion Group.

Chesterfield mayor Peter Barr joined the group’s employees and charity representatives at the Fox and Goose Inn, in Chesterfield, to celebrate the end of their 40th year and to present awards to the top fundraising team, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and top fundraiser, Marie Whitehead.

He said: “Chesterfield is full of so many people that volunteer and do their bit and you are a perfect example of this – it is truly exceptional what you have achieved.”

Representatives from Ashgate Hospice, St Lukes Hospice, The Chesterfield Canal Trust, British Heart Foundation, The Children’s Hospital Charity and Macmillan Cancer Support all joined in the celebration and thanked the fundraisers for their support.
