YOUNGSTERS at Grindleford Primary School have been learning about the police following a visit from their local Police Community Support Officer.

The pupils spent time talking to PCSO Anthony Boswell from the Hathersage Area Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team on Wednesday, May 16.

He gave a talk on the role of a PCSO and neighbourhood policing and the youngsters asked questions they had prepared about the police for a school project.

The youngsters also got to try on parts of a police uniform and look around a police car and equipment.

PCSO Boswell said: “It’s good to meet local youngsters and to speak to them about the work of police officers and PCSOs as it helps them to understand what it is we do and how we can help.

“They all seemed very interested and had some great questions for me to answer.”
