DEVELOPERS will launch an energy-saving scheme for local residents, if their plans to build a windfarm get the green light.
Banks Renewables has submitted a planning application to Bolsover District Council to build three, 125metre-high wind turbines and an 80metre-high mast on fields near the junction of Glapwell Lane and Losk Lane, Palterton.
The Barlborough-based company says the project also includes plans to introduce a Warm Zone Scheme with a £50,000 investment to help access grants for energy improvements for nearby residents such as cavity wall insulation and loft insulation.
Campaigners opposed to the wind farm have argued it will create noise, be an eyesore and will be built too close to houses - but Banks claims noise can be controlled.
The council planning committee is expected to make a decision within weeks.
