World Aids Day in Derbyshire

WORLD AIDS Day is being marked with a series of events across Derbyshire this weekend.

Derbyshire Sexual Health Promotion Services are hosting events across the county to mark the day, on December 1, and promote the need for people of all ages to protect themselves against HIV, the virus that can cause AIDS.

HIV remains a significant problem across the region, with one new diagnosis each week in Derby alone, and 50 per cent of new cases being reported among heterosexuals.

To find out more, contact the Derbyshire Sexual Health Promotion Service on 01246 559431.
