Firefighters have reiterated the importance of driving carefully on icy roads after two pensioners had to be rescued following a crash.
The pensioners’ car slid 15m down an embankment at Derwent Reservoir in Bamford yesterday.
Crews from Hathersage, Bradwell, Matlock and Chesterfield freed the pair using rope rescue gear.
Derbyshire Fire and Rescue Service has urged drivers to take “extra care on the county’s icy roads” and issued this safety advice.
