Police are reassuring residents in Brimington after armed officers were called to an incident yesterday afternoon (Friday, July 4).
Following reports that someone was armed in the area, officers attended the Peterdale Road area at 7.42pm yesterday.
Inspector Steve Ball said: “Officers including armed officers attended the Brimington area of Chesterfield where enquiries were conducted at addresses on Coronation Road and Peterdale Road.
“At no time were any members of the public in any danger.
“I would reassure the local residents there is no reason to be alarmed about this incident and we would like to apologise to members of the public about any disruption caused.”
At this time Insp Ball would not comment further on the nature of the call which led to the armed response.
