It was a fantastic day for local gardeners as hordes of people turned out to see their produce at an annual show.
Crowds of people flocked to the Whaley Bridge Gardening Show to admire this year’s hottest produce.
Cedge Heathcote, of Whaley Bridge, has been involved in the show since 1970.
“It was the best turn out we have had in a long time – I couldn’t believe it,” he said.
“The standard of the flowers and vegetables was the best it has been for 20 years.
“Different people have rung up since and said it’s on of the best shows around here because it’s more like a family show.”
The show, which is a tradition in Whaley Bridge, has been going for more than 100 years.
Cedge said he thought the venue – Whaley Bridge Bowls Club – helped make this year’s show such a success as people could enjoy sitting outside.
There were cream teas available at the event as well as an auction, tombola and raffle.
