Police are investigating an allegation of robbery in the woods off Back Lane, Eckington.

A 13–year–old girl has told the police that at about 6.35pm on Tuesday, April 8, she was approached by two men who stole her mobile phone.

She had been for a walk with her dog and a friend and as she was walking through the woods alone, near the engine house, she says she was pushed to the ground. Someone then walked in front of her and picked up the phone she had dropped. She described this man as being white, about 5’ 7” tall and of skinny build. He was wearing a black hoodie with the hood tightly drawn around his face and grey tracksuit bottoms. She didn’t see the person who pushed her over.

She suffered a slight graze to her forehead.

Anyone who was in the woods at the time or who has information that would help the investigation should contact the police on 101 or call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
