Two men charged after paramedic is assaulted in Chesterfield

Two men have been charged after a paramedic was assaulted while attending a call to a house in Chesterfield.

The ambulance service was called to Cordwell Avenue at around 5pm on Christmas Day. Paramedics contacted police when they arrived at the address.

While waiting for police to arrive one of the paramedics was allegedly assaulted and damage caused to the ambulance.

Officers arrived and arrested an 18-year-old man and a 20-year-old man.

The 20-year-old has been charged with affray, a public order offence, common assault, criminal damage and possession of a bladed article in public.

The 18-year-old has been charged with a public order offence and common assault.

They will be appearing at North East Derbyshire and Dales Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, January 9.
