Trek for a good cause

The Red Cross wants Dales residents to put on their hiking boots to raise much–needed funds.

The charity, which has a base at Matlock Green, will be holding a sponsored trek of Mount Snowdon in July 2013.

Community fundraiser for the Red Cross in Derbyshire, Alex Gadsby, said: “I’m sure there’s lots of Derbyshire walkers who would really like to ‘get Snowdon’ ticked off their list of top UK walks. This event is the ideal opportunity to do just that.”

The money raised will to help people whose lives have been affected by crises and disasters, large and small, in the UK and overseas.
