TRAVEL: Snow expected to cause disruptions

DERBYSHIRE commuters and residents are still being warned to prepare for more weather disruptions today, Wednesday, February 13, as more snow is expected.

The Met Office has given a yellow warning of snow for the East Midlands after forecasters predicted snow for Derbyshire & Nottinghamshire from this morning and throughout the day.

Travel disruptions around Chesterfield and the county include the following warnings:

A628 Woodhead Pass High Peak, both ways between A6024 and A616. A628 Derbyshire - The carriageway is just passable and hazardous driving conditions on A628 Woodhead Pass between Holmfirth Turn Off in High Peak and Flouch Roundabout in Langsett, because of snow.

Traffic Incident: M1 Derbyshire, southbound at A617 [M1 junction 29]. M1 Derbyshire - Heavy traffic earlier on M1 southbound at J29, A617 (Chesterfield).

Traffic Incident: A52 Derby Road Nottingham, eastbound between A6007 Ilkeston Road and A6514 Clifton Boulevard. A52 Nottinghamshire - Heavy traffic on A52 Derby Road inbound in Nottingham between Bramcote Island and The Qmc Island.

Traffic Incident: A635 Stamford Street Stalybridge, westbound at B6176 Rassbottom Street traffic lights. A635 Greater Manchester - Heavy traffic earlier on A635 Stamford Street westbound in Stalybridge at the B6176 Rassbottom Street traffic lights junction.

Traffic Incident: A6018 Stamford Street / Mottram Road Stalybridge, both ways at B6175 Huddersfield Road traffic lights. A6018 Greater Manchester - A6018 Stamford Street / Mottram Road in Stalybridge clear at the B6175 Huddersfield Road traffic lights junction.

Traffic Incident: Shardlow Road Shardlow Road Elvaston, westbound between A6 and A5111 Raynesway Derbyshire - Slow traffic on Shardlow Road inbound in Elvaston between the A6 junction and the A5111 Raynesway junction.
