Tax is frozen

Derbyshire County Council has frozen its share of council tax for a third year running for the first time ever.

The decision was rubber-stamped by the council last week.

The authority has agreed to make savings of £27m over the coming year.

Those cuts are on top of £70m of savings and 1,600 job losses in the last three years.
