FORMER footballer and Strictly Come Dancing star Robbie Savage will present awards to more than 90 youngsters at Derbyshire County Council’s Young Achiever Awards.

Robbie will present awards on stage in a glitzy Oscar-style ceremony on Friday, December 7.

The award winners range in age from three to 18 and are from across Derbyshire.

Robbie said: “It’s a great honour to be asked along to the Derbyshire Young Achiever awards.

“I’m looking forward to meeting all the youngsters and it will be a great evening for the winners and their families.”

Cllr Andrew Lewer, leader at Derbyshire County Council, said: “This year we will recognise the achievements of 95 Derbyshire youngsters and I am looking forward to seeing them at what will be a wonderful evening.”

The annual awards will honour youngsters in a number of categories including bravery in fighting an illness, kindness in helping others and sporting, musical, artistic or academic success.
