Two stranded lambs were pulled out of the river by canoeists.

Thirteen members of Ichthus Canoe Club Chesterfield were taking part in a ten mile river trip in North Yorkshire when they heard the lambs’ bleating.

Their mother had drowned and the lambs could not get on to the high bank.

Members plucked the animals from the water and placed them safely in the field.
