We’re on our way to Wembley ... we just need to get to the front of this queue first!
Spireites fans were in good spirits despite the cold this morning when they queued around the block to get their hands on tickets to see Chesterfield in the Johnstone’s Paint Trophy final at Wembley.
The first seats were snapped up by season ticket holders at 9am today - and the most dedicated supporters had been waiting since 5am.
Eager fans queued up around the Proact stadium to get the tickets for the final on the 30th March.
One of the first Spireite supporters to get his ticket was Ian Needham, who is making the journey to Wembley with four others.
He said: “I’ve been waiting here since 20 past 6 this morning, going to Wembley again is the greatest feeling, I’m thinking 3-1 to Chesterfield.”
The spireite barmy army also took to twitter to air their joy at getting tickets.
Dean (@awayend) tweeted: “Great service at the ticket office earlier. Proud owner of 9 Wembley tickets. The big smoke better get ready for the town!”
Dyan (doodle_dy) is also the proud owner of tickets to Wembley.
She tweeted: “4 tickets to Wembley and hotel booked. Bring it on, an enourmous day and great memories. I love the spireite army.”GOT YOUR TICKET? READY FOR VICTORY? COME ON YOU SPIREITES - TWEET YOUR PHOTOS @D_TIMES OR EMAIL COMMENT@DERBYSHIRETIMES.CO.UK
Season ticket holders can purchase a maximum of six tickets per season ticket from the Ticket Office or the Club Superstore until 7pm tonight.
The Ticket Office and Club Superstore will also be open from 10am to 4pm tomorrow and from 10am to 4pm on Sunday for the sale of Wembley tickets.
It is not possible to specify particular seat numbers required as the policy in place means that seats have to be sold in order.
Tickets for the big game will be avaliable on general sale to the public on Tuesday 4th March at 9am.
Coach travel to Wembley will be provided by True Blue Travel (£30 adults/£25 16 and under), departing at 8am.
