NDET 14-1-13 RKH 19 Dronfield Snow

Light snow stopped falling at midnight with temperatures remaining below zero.

Expect snow flurries in many places today.

Be aware that snow is forecast to arrive towards midday.

Temperatures will struggle to reach much above zero through the day, staying below zero on high ground.

Take extra care as the snow from last night has covered ice that remains on many untreated surfaces.

South East wind increased slighty through the night and there will be gusts in most places.

Gritting

Precautionary salting of all primary network routes were completed early this morning.

Precautionary salting of secondary network routes are provisionally planned for this morning.

Weather-related road closures

There are no reported weather related road closures.

Beckingham Way at the coach station in Chesterfield is now open.

The Common, Melbourne is closed due to utility work and so has not been gritted.

Event cancellations

The Duke of Edinburgh’s Award presentation evening due to take place at 7.30pm on Friday 18 January at County Hall, Matlock has been cancelled. Any queries call 01629 531273.
