THIEVES ripped and stole metal from the exterior of two houses on the same road in Shuttlewood.
The offenders struck at the properties on Bentinck Road during the early hours of Saturday, January 12, between midnight and 8am.
A Derbyshire Constabulary spokesman said: “One home owner was woken to the sound of banging outside and when they went outside they found eight metres of copper, gas piping had been taken from the centre of the house and from across the gable end of the property.
“Following a similar incident on the same road metal was also removed from the exterior.”
Due to the nature, timing and location of both incidents, police believe it is possible they could be linked to the same offenders.
Witnesses or anyone with information are urged to call Derbyshire Constabulary on 101 or Crimestoppers in confidence on 0800 555 111.
