Scouting in Canada

One Dales youngster is to embark on the experience of a lifetime as she represents the UK in the 14th Scout Moot in Canada.

Sian Bagshaw will be heading to Canada in August and will join 5,000 other Scouts from around the world.

The 18-year-old was selected because of her energy and enthusiasm for international Scouting and her desire to learn about different cultures and ways of living.

Sian said: “I love Scouting and I can’t wait to go to Canada and represent the UK, showing people the way Scouting works here. I’m looking forward to learning new skills and seeing different cultures.”

Bear Grylls, chief scout, said: “Congratulations to Sian for being selected to go on this trip of a lifetime – it’s a great opportunity.”
