Officers from Buxton Rural Safer Neighbourhood Team are heading back to school to speak to drivers about parking problems and road safety.
Police from the team have set the issues as their new priority profile and will be tackling them over the next three months.
In recent weeks, police have received reports that motorists have been parking on zig-zag lines outside schools in the area, with cars blocking roads and pavements and potentially causing accidents.
Officers will now be increasing patrols around schools at key times to speak to drivers about their parking as well as working with the schools and parking enforcement staff to find long-term solutions. Further action such as fines or penalty points could be taken against repeat offenders.
