Gold card holders are being urged to renew them now to avoid losing free England-wide bus travel plus local business discounts and library membership.
Currently there are around 172,000 Derbyshire Gold Card holders whose cards will run out next March. So far 80,000 have already requested a new card online but Derbyshire County Council (DCC) is now urging cardholders who haven’t already, to get in touch immediately to renew their card.
Gold cards can be renewed at www.derbyshire.gov.uk/renewyourgoldcard
Councillor Simon Spencer, DCC’s cabinet member for highways and transport, said: “There’s still time to get a new card before current cards expire in March but don’t leave it until the last minute. It’s really important to request a new card today.”
Gold Card holders who do not get in touch will not be sent new cards and if they travel by bus after March they will have to pay the full adult fare.
