Praise for pupils at village school

This week we’re showcasing Brockley Primary School as part of our pupular new feature.

Derbyshire Times photographer Marisa Cashill has visited the friendly Shuttlewood school to capture the lovely group shot on page 32 of this week’s paper.

What’s more, Marisa filmed the wonderful above video of tuneful pupils singing a song called Together.

Headteacher Erica Thornhil said the school was “wonderful”.

She added: “We’re a family-friendly, inclusive school.

“We’re all different but what makes us special is how we support each other to be the best we can be.”

In its latest Ofsted report, education watchdogs said pupils were polite, friendly and well-behaved.

Editor James Mitchinson said: “Primary Focus is proving to be a much-loved part of your Derbyshire Times.

“We’re getting lots of positive feedback from proud schools and parents.”

If your school would like to be involved in a future edition of Primary Focus, call 01246 504526, email comment@derbyshiretimes.co.uk or use our Twitter or Facebook.
