Detectives investigating the murder of a man are appealing for the public’s help to find a weapon believed to have been used in the attack.
Officers recently received information that the knife Mr Baker was killed with was in a clearing within woodland off Lea Vale, South Normanton, just beyond a wooden bridge that crosses a brook.
Police have conducted thorough searches of the area but the knife has not been found. Officers are asking anyone who may have found the knife since Mr Baker’s death on July 19 to come forward. Anyone who discovers a knife in this area should similarly contact police.
A map has been produced showing the area where police believe the knife to be, marked with an ‘x’.
Leon Lockhart, 31, and Michaela Griffiths, 24, from South Normanton, have been charged with murdering the 32-year-old. Miss Griffiths has also been charged with attempting to pervert the course of justice.
