Packing to help Chloe

Cadets have teamed up to help an ill girl by packing bags at a supermarket.

The Wirksworth Army Cadets raised £500 for Chesterfield girl Chloe Parkes when they went to work at Sainsbury’s, in Matlock.

The 11–year–old is battling a brain tumour and has endured eight operations.

Her parents, Tara and Nic, with help from her older sister Jessica, who is a member of the Staveley Cadets, are currently raising money for Cancer Research UK.

Second Lieutenant Shaun Wood and Sergeant Mick Keen oversaw the cadets efforts.

Shaun said: “Mick was really keen to help out in whatever way he could.

“He told the cadets all about Chloe’s illness and fund–raising that her sister was doing with the cadets.

“The cadets were all up for it and glad to be helping out.”

Derbyshire Army Cadet Force (Mercian Regiment) welcomes you people aged 12 to 18 years old. Further information is available by visiting derbyshireacf.com or calling 01332 772025 ext 21.
