Newbold residents get safety advice

Police in Newbold have been visiting local residents to give advice on staying safe.

PC Mick Hellewell and PCSO Janis Naylor of the Dunston, Moor and St Helen’s Safer Neighbourhood Policing Team visited people living at Pembroke Court, on St. Johns Road.

They offered advice on personal and home safety and security, and gave out free purse chains to use while they are out shopping.

PCSO Naylor said: “We visited the residents at Pembroke Court to speak to them about any concerns or issues they may have and to give advice on how they can keep themselves and their homes safe.

“The aim behind the visit was to offer an extra bit reassurance around safety and to make sure that people aware of the steps they can take to help protect themselves.”

The visit took place on Wednesday, August 22.
