New Mills arts venue to host conservation event

A prestigious conservation event is being held in New Mills.

Spring Bank Arts will be the venue for the UK Association of Preservation Trusts Midlands’ AGM.

Friday’s event will attract delegates from across the region, including speakers from Heritage Counts and the Heritage Lottery Fund.

Spring Bank Arts Trustee Judith Lanham said: “It is a privilege and a mark of respect for the achievement of Spring Bank Arts, to be chosen to hold this event in its first year of operation.”

Spring Bank Arts opened in May 2012 after an extensive repair and renovation programme, funded mainly by the Architectural Heritage Fund and the Heritage Lottery Fund, to convert the church of St James the Less.
