Residents of Amber Valley that are recovering from mental health problems are being encouraged to look after their hearts.
This new scheme, run by Amber Trust, comes as the area received a grant from Heart Research UK of £4,400.
The scheme ‘I heart wellbeing’ aims to inspire people who are overcoming mental illness to look after their hearts, health and wellbeing by equipping them with the knowledge of how to look after themselves.
Heart focussed wellbeing sessions will focus on the importance of exercising, healthy eating, stress busting and the risks associated with smoking and drinking too much alcohol.
A spokesperson for Amber Trust said that they are delighted to have received the Healthy Heart Grant from Heart Research UK .
