A candle–lit vigil has been organised to commemorate the hundredth anniversary since the start of World War One.
The Matlock sub branch of the Royal British Legion has organised the event in conjunction with Matlock Town Council on August 4.
The vigil will be held at Park Head, Crown Square, in Matlock, between 10pm and 11pm. There will be music to suit the occasion along with the singing of popular war time songs will form part of the proceedings. Additionally each serviceman who died in the war will be individually remembered.
