FIREFIGHTERS rescued a horse that had become trapped after it had fallen into a river.
The horse was found in water near Forge Lane, Killamarsh, about 11.42am, on Wednesday, January 9.
Crews from Chesterfield, Buxton and Matlock used ropes and strops to lift the horse free by about 1.20pm.
A vet gave the animal a thorough check and confirmed the horse had survived the ordeal without any serious injuries and was well.
