POLICE are appealing for information after jewellery was stolen from a house in Wingerworth.

The burglary happened at 10.10am on Thursday, October 11, when two men broke into a bungalow on Central Drive.

A large amount of jewellery – including eight necklaces, five rings, three bracelets, two pendants and two pairs of earrings – was stolen during the burglary.

The offenders made off on foot down Central Drive.

As they were searching the property, they awoke a 23-year-old woman who was sleeping in one of the bedrooms.

She opened her bedroom door and was confronted by the men who were wearing dark clothes with their hoods up and scarves around their faces.

One of the suspects is described as more than 6ft tall and the other was almost a foot shorter.

Both were slim.

Anyone who was in the area at the time or who has any information that would help the investigation should contact police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
