An inquest has opened after missing Staveley man Glynn Holland was found dead.
His body was found by a railway worker on an embankment near train tracks in Barrow Hill on December 9.
Dad-of-two Mr Holland, 51, was reported missing from his home in September.
Speaking at Chesterfield coroner’s court on Monday, Det Con Alex Edwards, of Chesterfield CID, said: “An engineer found Mr Holland’s body covered in leaves. He thought it was a mannequin but then realised it was human.”
The engineer informed police and he was identified by dental records.
Det Con Edwards said Mr Holland was in the same clothes he was wearing when he went missing. Police do not believe there to be any suspicious circumstances. Coroner James Anderson adjourned the inquest to a later date.
