Hundreds of villagers turned out for the annual New Whittington Gala.
Residents paraded through the street and families enjoyed fun in the sun on Sunday.
The event, in aid of Chesterfield RSPCA, included games, stalls, a funfair, donkey rides, sea cadets and live bands. Barbara Yorke, landlady of the Wellington Hotel, one of the pubs involved in hosting the gala, said: “There was a very good turnout.
“After the rain stopped at noon the afternoon was very busy.
“It’s becoming a very popular event.”
The pub hosted several attractions including a barbecue and a bouncy castle for children. There was also a range of rescue animals on show in the garden.
