A Chesterfield Halloween ghost walk will take place on Monday, October 29, starting at The Rutland Hotel.

It will last for three hours, call in at two haunted pubs and finish with a candlelit supper.

Tickets are £25 per person and can be booked on www.chesterfieldghostwalk.co.uk.

Meanwhile, exceptionally brave visitors to Chatsworth themselves as the house, garden and farmyard deliver a whole week of tricks, treats and scary surprises.

Torch-lit tours of the house, pumpkin trails and a secret scary tunnel to explore in the garden, zombie dance workshops in the farmyard and Fright Flights through Warlock Wood are lined up to thrill all the family from October 27 to November 4.

And a ghoulish Halloween Treasure Hunt will take place around Holmebrook Valley Park on Tuesday, October 30 from 1pm to 3pm.

To book call 01246 230731.

Anyone who enjoys a good ghost story is invited to Chesterfield College’s Infirmary Road campus on Monday, October 22 at 5.30pm for a free ghosts and ghouls tour of the building.

Meeting at the main reception, college historian David Siddon will host the tour alongside a group of the college’s performing arts students.

The tour follows on from a short book of real-life ghostly experiences which David has collated over his 30 years at the college. From deceased tutors continuing to roam the halls to mysterious moving objects, it’s safe to say you’ll need a steady nerve on this tour!

Anyone who wants to go on the free tour needs to book a place by emailing the college’s communications Officer, James Marples at marplesj@chesterfield.ac.uk or call him on 01246 500562
