The borough council has made £20,000 available to High Peak community groups and town councils as funding to projects to commemorate the centenary of the First World War.

Leader of High Peak Borough Council, Cllr Caitlin Bisknell, said: “We know that there will be many groups who will be making arrangements for local events and projects that mark this pivotal period in our country’s history.”

The fund is open to applications from ‘not for profit’ community benefit organisations such as community groups and charities, social enterprises and town and parish councils in High Peak.

Small grants of up to £500, or more by exception, will be considered for local, small scale community projects which bring cultural, sporting, recreational, health, environmental, intergenerational, heritage or educational benefits to the community.

Application forms are available at highpeak.gov.uk/hp/WWOne and should be emailed to mark.forrester@highpeak.gov.uk or posted to him at High Peak Borough Council, PO Box 136, Buxton SK17 1AQ.
