Mother and Daughter duo Carole Smith and Laura Robinson at White Petals and Lace are supporting Helen’s Trust - a Bakewell based charity that helps people with terminal illness at home.
The charity was set in up in memory of Helen Louise Lyon, Carole’s Sister-in-law and Laura’s Aunt, and Derbyshire business White Petals and Lace has agreed to donate ten per cent of its profits to the charity.
Laura said: “Helen was such an inspiration to so many people throughout her illness and her memory lives on through the wonderful work that the charity does today.
“She would have been unbelievably proud that so many people have had their wishes fulfilled through Helen’s Trust.
“By donating to the charity we feel that we can give something back and help terminally ill people like Helen fulfil their wishes in the last stages of their lives.”
The Chief Executive of Helen’s Trust, Lucy Nickson said: “When Helen’s illness became terminal she was determined that she wanted to continue to lead as normal life as possible and stay in her own home; some exceptional circumstance and the support of family and friends made this possible.
“The charity was started after her funeral, in 2001, with the aim of helping others to be able to have this choice.
“Over the past 10 years the charity has grown and now offers support across the North of Derbyshire and Sheffield.
“This growth is only possible through the support and generosity of individuals and businesses like White Petals and Lace, and the ongoing support from Helen’s Family is very special.”
