A BUXTON charity has been given a boost thanks to a local company.

Lhoist UK Ltd have donated a Christmas Hamper to Charis House, home of the Good News Family Care charity.

The Christian organisation offers support, counselling and temporary accommodation for families in crisis at its Hardwick Square East base.

Tineke Hanshaw, from the Buxton-based company Lhoist UK Ltd, said: “We wanted to give a helping hand to a local charity that was in need of some festive cheer, and would hopefully give a little happiness to those in need at this time.

“We just wanted to give those less fortunate than ourselves a chance to enjoy the festive season.”
