Firework attack

POLICE have upped patrols after fireworks were thrown at a house.

The explosives were launched at a property in Old Road, Whaley Bridge, on Friday evening.

PC Ellen Barlow, of the Whaley Bridge Safer Neighbourhood Team, said: “This is an extremely dangerous act that could lead to serious damage and could potentially be fatal.

“This will not be tolerated.

“We will be exploring a number of methods to catch those responsible and bring them to justice,” she added.

The Whaley Bridge Safer Neighbourhood Team will be increasing patrols and studying nearby CCTV footage to identify the offenders.

Witnesses should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
