Warnings have been issued after an unusually high number of break-ins around Ripley during the festive season.
Raiders broke into stock-laden shops and homes filled with gifts.
The worst of the raids saw burglars drill into a safe at Jack Fulton’s food store on Oxford Street, late on Boxing Day.
Burglars also used cat-flaps to enter homes in the town.
In the weekend running up to Christmas there were four burglaries in Ripley alone.
A police spokesperson confirmed the number has been higher than usual.
